New Zealand spinner Ajaz Patel, who took 10 wickets against India last year in December has come up with a unique gesture.

He has decided to help the children of Starship Hospital by auctioning his Test t-shirt online.

The money collected will be given to the hospital so that they can appoint a Play Specialist in the Radiology department.

Ajaz became the third bowler to take all 10 wickets in a single innings and his first-ever for New Zealand.

Ajaz got congratulations from both Virat Kohli and R. Ashwin after the Test match.

Ashwin even gave Ajaz a signed Indian shirt after the Test match.

Patel also received a standing ovation at the Wankhede Stadium last year.

He equalled England’s Jim Laker and Anil Kumble’s record of 10 Test wickets taken in a single innings.

He also broke Sir Richard Hadlee’s 1995 record of 9/52 against Australia in Brisbane.

The t-shirt includes the signatures of all the New Zealand players as well as the scorecard of the Mumbai Test match.

Ajaz took to Instagram to share the news of the auctioning his t-shirt to the children’s hospital.

When asked the reason for doing so, Ajaz told his story where he had come with his wife and daughter to the Starship hospital and now they wanted to return the favour.

Patel also said that the hospital really came in handy when his daughter was sick.

So, this is just a small token of appreciation for the hospital staff from Ajaz and his family.
