In a recent report, it has come forward that BCCI has decided to discontinue the policy of having permanent team managers for the senior India Men’s team.

It will now be a series-by-series affair with different managers for different series.

Girish Dongre has ended his tenure as team manager and BCCI will not be renewing his contract. In the recently concluded series against West Indies, Dhaval Shah was the team manager.

Similarly, for the upcoming Sri Lanka series, it is coming to the fore that Jaidev Shah will act as a BCCI representative and no manager will be appointed.

Dongre was appointed by the Committee of Administrators regime and his contract had actually ended after last year’s ICC T20 World Cup in UAE.

Nevertheless, he had gone with the Indian team to South Africa on a temporary basis. Since January, he has not been associated with the team.

Dongre first came to the Indian team’s side as a manager in late 2019, replacing Sunil Subramaniam.

He also faced a lot of heat during last year’s India tour of England.
