Ben Stokes to donate his match fees towards Pakistan flood relief campaign

England test skipper, Ben Stokes took to Twitter to announce that he will be donating his match fees of the Test series towards the Pakistan flood relief campaign.

England has arrived in Pakistan after 17 years for a test series. They already played a 7 match T20 series before the T20 World Cup. England won the series 4-3. However, England canceled their tour to Pakistan in 2021 at the last moment owing to security concerns.

Post-arrival in Pakistan, Ben Stokes shared a post on Twitter. The post stated that Stokes is delighted to arrive in Pakistan after 17 years and that he is excited to be playing here. Moreover, he feels that he has a sense of responsibility toward society beyond cricket, and he wishes to fulfill that.

“I’m donating my match fees from this Test series to the Pakistan Flood appeal,” Ben Stokes

England captain Ben Stokes, took to social media to express his grief over the devastation caused by floods in Pakistan.

“It is great to be in Pakistan for the first time for this historic series. To be back here after 17 years as a Test side is very exciting. There is a sense of responsibility amongst the playing and support group and to be there is special.”

“The floods that devastated Pakistan earlier this year was very sad to see. And has had a significant impact on the country and the people,” 

Ben Stokes went on to say that cricket has given him a lot and that it is time for him to give back to society. He announced that he will be donating his entire match fees of this test series towards the Pakistan flood relief campaign.

The game has given me a lot in my life and I feel it’s only right to give something back that goes far beyond cricket. I will be donating my match fees from this Test series to the Pakistan flood appeal.”

“Hopefully this donation can go towards the rebuilding of areas of Pakistan most affected by the flooding.”
