After the fiasco of the Delhi Capitals-Rajasthan Royals match, the issue of checking waist-high no-balls has become a major concern.

Mumbai Indians’ head coach, Mahela Jayawardene has stepped forward and is open to discussing the issue in the international forum.

Jayawardene is a member of the ICC Cricket Committee.

He opined whether or not the third umpire should alert the on-field umpires about a waist-high no-ball.

He didn’t condone the actions of the Delhi Capitals players though.

Jayawardene, however, was unhappy with the way Rishabh Pant reacted and sent Amre to resolve the issue.

After watching the events unfold on tv, Jayawardene had a chat with his Mumbai Indians players.

Usually, coaches enter the field only during the time-out phase and not in between a game.

It will be interesting to note if the ICC Cricket Committee brings up the issue for discussion in their next meeting.

IPL does not have to wait for the international verdict as it has already done away with two playing conditions since last season.

They have taken away the soft signal dismissals for disputed catches as well as checking short runs from the on-field umpires.

International cricket so far has not taken any steps in this regard.
