IPL 2022: Post Match Analysis: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Delhi Capitals

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Delhi Capitals

Delhi Capitals finally found their winning ways back in today’s fixture against the Kolkata Knight Riders.

KKR won the toss and decided to bat first at the Brabourne Stadium.

Delhi once again started off well with the bat with both Prithvi Shaw and David Warner making full use of the Powerplay overs.

Even Rishabh Pant did well for his 27. Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur gave the final blow to the Kolkata Knight Riders by contributing 22 and 29 runs respectively.

Delhi Capitals ended with a huge score of 215/5 in their 20 overs.

Kolkata had to chase down 216. It was going to be a toughie for the team batting second.

Kolkata had a slow and tragic start to their innings as they lost Ajinkya Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer rather quickly.

Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana stabilised Kolkata Knight Riders’ boat and played brilliantly to lessen the gap of runs.

After they got out, Andre Russell and Sam Billings tried to keep the team afloat but by then it was too late.

Kolkata Knight Riders were bowled out for 171 runs and Delhi Capitals won the match by 44 runs.

Player of the Match

Kuldeep Yadav for his 4/35 (4).
