Mumbai Indians are just having a bad time in the TATA IPL this year. They have not been able to register a single win this season.

They lost their 8th straight match to Lucknow Super Giants who are now in the top 4 of the IPL points table.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to bowl first at the Wankhede Stadium.

It was skipper KL Rahul’s night as he once again smashed the Mumbai Indians’ bowlers to register another ton for himself in the IPL.

Rahul had made 103* against the Mumbai Indians in an afternoon fixture between these two sides and he repeated the feat once again yesterday.

The only other batter to score any runs was Manish Pandey who made 22.

Lucknow Super Giants finished off with a good score of 168/6 in their 20 overs.

Mumbai Indians needed to make 169 to win their first-ever game of the season.

However, things didn’t go as planned for the five-time champions who fell like a house of cards.

The only batsmen who provided some form of resistance were Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard and Tilak Verma.

Mumbai Indians could only muster 132/8 in their 20 overs and lost the match by 36 runs.

It will now be very difficult for the Mumbai Indians to make a strong comeback after losing 8 straight games.

They will now have to win all of their remaining games in order to seal a playoffs berth.

Speaking on Tim David, he said that they are trying to give match time to all the players in the tournament so that they don’t miss out. Ended by saying that they are not making too many changes to their side but feels that whoever is playing in the team needs time to settle in.

KL Rahul, Lucknow Super Giants skipper said that he tries to remain in the moment and tries to play according to the conditions. Added that the team wants him to continue his superb form and that he will continue to maintain his good form. Mentioned that his plan was to take singles at first and be there as long as possible but didn’t know that he would remain unbeaten till the end. Ended by saying that teams who defend well, do well in the powerplay, or bowl well in the death overs are the ones winning the tournament.
