Post Match Reactions

Hardik Pandya, Gujarat Titans skipper said that although they were doing pretty well in the second innings, the loss of constant wickets pulled the game away from them. Mentioned that he was not happy with his batsmen. However, added that in T20 cricket a team can’t just go on losing wickets, and they have won from crunch situations before. Mentioned that they should not have let the game go till the 20th over and praised the bowling unit of Mumbai. In conclusion, said that at one point Mumbai looked to score past 200 but they did a good job of restricting them to 170.

Rohit Sharma, Mumbai Indians captain said that it got close but it now feels satisfying that they won the game. Felt that they were 15-20 runs short but he was happy with the way Tim David turned the game around for them and took them to a defendable target. Added that bowling is dependent on the type of the pitch and he had the resources in the game to look to who could help him defend the target easily. Praised all his bowlers and their skillsets and said that all of them work very hard in the nets. Added that Daniel Sams was under pressure in the last two games, but he kept backing him. Ended by saying they are now trying to keep the same squad.
