Sunrisers Hyderabad registered their 3rd win of the season as they beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets.

Winning the toss, SRH decided to bowl first.

Kolkata had a rocky start to their innings.

Venkatesh Iyer and Aaron Finch were out on low scores.

The only players to reach double digits were Shreyas Iyer, Nitish Rana and Andre Russell.

SRH bowlers did the job pretty well for them with T Natarajan being the pick of the bowlers.

Umran Malik picked 2 wickets in the game.

Kolkata Knight Riders finished off with 175/8 in their 20 overs.

In the second innings, Sunrisers Hyderabad lost Abhishek Sharma early on in the innings.

Kane Williamson too didn’t last long at the crease.

The innings that grabbed everyone’s attention yesterday was of Rahul Tripathi who scored 71 off just 37 balls.

Along with Aiden Markram, he made the chase possible for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Nicholas Pooran added the finishing touches to the innings.

Post Match Reactions

Shreyas Iyer, Kolkata Knight Riders skipper said that he is not happy with his team’s performance and feels drained and disappointed even after putting up a good total. Added that Tripathi looked well comfortable at the crease and didn’t allow the bowlers to create any sort of pressure and tackled the new ball as well. Lastly, he said that although they displayed a great batting performance, they couldn’t do much with the ball and that cost them the game.

Kane Williamson, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain said that they mainly concentrated with the ball in the first innings but Kolkata did put up a great score. Praised Tripathi for his performance and said that it was good teamwork overall. Mentioned that Marco Jansen has been doing a pretty decent job for them by providing the crucial breakthroughs during Powerplay overs. Also praised Malik for his bowling at a very high pace. Ended by saying that it is a very good feeling of winning three games in a row.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will next face Punjab Kings on the 17th of April at Dr DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai while Kolkata Knight Riders will be up against Rajasthan Royals on the 18th of April at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.
