After a controversial loss against the Rajasthan Royals, skipper Rishabh Pant and assistant coach Pravin Amre have been fined 100% of their match fees.

The incident started when the umpires just signalled a six for Rovman Powell but didn’t give the delivery a no-ball.

This irked everyone in the Delhi Capitals dugout and Rishabh Pant looked very aggressive.

All the players of the Delhi Capitals started arguing with the on-field umpires to give them a no-ball for the height.

According to the rules, a no-ball check for height is only done when there is a possibility of a wicket.

The umpires refused to give a no-ball as it wasn’t a wicket.

Rishabh Pant, Pravin Amre and Shardul Thakur have been admitted under level 2 offences under different articles.

Pravin Amre was also handed a one-match ban for his behaviour during the match.

Even Jos Buttler went up to Pant and looked infuriated with Pant’s actions.

Eventually, Shane Watson calmed down Pant and Delhi Capitals lost the game by 15 runs.

Head coach Ricky Ponting is isolating from the team for five days as his family member tested positive for Covid-19.

Former England batter and captain, Kevin Pietersen commented that had Ricky Ponting been there, the situation wouldn’t have turned out to be so bad.

He also rued that this was a very ungentlemanly thing as far as cricket is concerned.

Pietersen also added that the on-field umpire’s decision has to be accepted.
