Ex-Chennai Super Kings player Suresh Raina went unsold in this year’s IPL Mega Auction.

None of the 10 franchises showed any interest in buying Mr IPL although Robin Uthappa was pretty sure CSK would buy back Raina.

Raina was an integral part of the CSK since its inception in 2008 and won 4 titles under MS Dhoni’s captaincy as well.

Raina bid farewell from international cricket for India on August 15, 2020. He then didn’t participate in the thirteenth edition of the IPL.

In the fourteenth edition, he didn’t fare well as was expected from him by his fans.

With Raina going unsold in the Mega Auctions this year, his fans were quite unhappy.

But, recently Raina cheered up all his fans by choosing to join the Hindi commentary team of the IPL and will be commentating for the entire season.

By going unsold in the Mega Auctions, Suresh Raina may pretty soon bid farewell to IPL as well.

If we talk about Raina’s stats in the IPL, then he has played 205 games and has amassed 5528 runs with an average of 32.52. He has 39 half-centuries and 1 ton to his name in the tournament.

Raina’s strike rate is also pretty high at 136.76.

For India, Raina played 18 Tests, 226 ODIs and 78 T20Is and has amassed 768, 5615 and 1605 runs respectively.
