Rohit Sharma makes a return to ODI squad for series against Sri Lanka

India skipper Rohit Sharma has made a return to ODI cricket after escaping it this year in preparation for the T20 World Cup.

Currently, Rohit is undergoing a recovery from a thumb injury that he sustained during the recent Bangladesh tour.

Next month, India are up against Sri Lanka at home for a six-match white-ball series. While Rohit Sharma will manage the captaincy of the ODI squad, Hardik Pandya will manage the T20Is.

Rohit will be guiding a new-look ODI squad for this series as the likes of Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill have been added.

However, Shikhar Dhawan misses out because of poor performance this year. Dhawan made only 18 runs in the three ODI games that he got.

Additionally, Rishabh Pant has also not been considered for either squad and there are now multiple reasons for dropping both Dhawan and Pant.

Moreover, Suryakumar Yadav is going to be Pandya’s deputy in the T20I series.

Shivam Mavi and Mukesh Kumar have been given their maiden T20I call-ups by the BCCI.

Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Rohit will not be a part of the T20I series and will come back for the ODIs.

Additionally, Ravindra Jadeja who is undergoing a knee injury recovery is also not considered for either squad.
