Shami hailed “Jai Shri Ram” at Ahmedabad. Rohit opens up on that

On the first day of the Ahmedabad Test, a few people shouted ‘Jai Shri ram’ from the gallery after seeing Mohammed Shami. A couple of people called Shami by name. Although there is a controversy in that incident, Rohit Sharma is not aware of the matter. The captain of the Indian team said that he had not heard of any such incident.

Rohit faced the reporters after the end of the Test on Monday. At that time, the topic of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ aimed at Shami came up. Hearing the matter, Rohit said,

“I am not aware of the ‘Jai Sriram’ chanting for Shami. I am hearing this for the first time... can’t say what happened.”

After the incident, the video was spread on social media. Before the start of the first day of the Ahmedabad Test, a section of the audience chanted ‘Jai Sriram’ in Shami’s name for a while, but the Indian cricketers did not react. Shami himself did not look at the gallery. Only Suryakumar Yadav was seen with folded hands urging the audience to silence chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’. Neither the Indian team nor the Indian Cricket Board has given any response on the issue.

Shami faced ridiculed earlier as well

On the first day of the Ahmedabad Test, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in the stadium with the Prime Minister of Australia. His presence may have over-stimulated a section of the audience. A section of cricket lovers condemned this behavior of the audience. Many questioned why a cricketer of the Indian team was being made uncomfortable in this way before the start of the game. Some even complained of unnecessarily bringing politics into the game.

However, this is not the first time. Earlier, Shami had to face such awkward situations from a section of cricket lovers. However, Bengal’s fast bowler had to face such ridicules after wishing Vijaya Dasami. Shami could not bowl well in India-Pakistan match in T20 World Cup in 2021. Even then, some of the cricket lovers blamed him for the loss. The team’s failure however was put on him. At that time Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman protested. IPL franchises also stood by Shami.
