Indian wicket-keeper, Sanju Samson was selected for India’s tour of New Zealand. However, he failed to find a spot in the playing XI. He did not get a game in the T20 series. The fans are unimpressed with management’s decision and took to Twitter to lash out at the officials.

Sanju Samson has been the talk of the town for a while now. He is a player with an extraordinary skill set. Despite this, he was repeatedly denied a spot on the national team. His performances in the domestic season have been consistent for quite some time. Hence, fans have demanded his inclusion in the Indian team on multiple occasions. The selection committee finally answered the fans’ prayers and selected Sanju for overseas tours. But he never really got a chance to step onto the field.

The same thing happened in recent India’s tour of New Zealand as well. Sanju Samson was named in the 15-member squad for the white ball tour. However, Sanju could not find a place in the playing XI. India played 2 games. And, to everyone’s surprise, Sanju was excluded from both games. Fans were not at all happy with the management’s decision.

Netizens lash out at the Indian team management for Sanju Samson ‘s exclusion

Twitter users are raging over Sanju’s exclusion. A journalist wrote a tweet that stated,

“India may win this bilateral series, but they have lost the respect of the entire nation by not giving chances to players like Sanju Samson, Shubman Gill, and Umran Malik.”

Another user questioned Indian management for giving too many chances to Rishabh Pant. Pant has failed repeatedly and is still backed by the management.

“Hats off Sanju Samson for Your patience. One player is still getting chance even after playing 60 plus T20Is. And you Sanju Samson. Upar wala sab dekh raha hai”

However, Hardik Pandya, the skipper for this tour has brushed off all the critics. He justified his decision of excluding Sanju Samson by saying that it was a tactical decision. Sanju apparently, did not fit in his strategic plans, he further added.

The men in blue have won the T20 series by 1-0. And, now, the team moves on to the ODI series, which will commence on 25th November 2022.
