Virat Kohli’s childhood coach reminisces his early years

On Saturday, May 6, Delhi Capitals will face Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 50th game of IPL 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. As Bangalore travels to Delhi, the match marks Virat Kohli’s homecoming. Prior to the game, Royal Challengers Bangalore released a video on their social media featuring Kohli’s childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma. In the video, Sharma reminisced about Kohli’s early years. And how he trained the 34-year-old to become the player he is today.

“On May 30, 1998, he came to me with his brother and his father. Within a few days, we could see that he was very different from others. A very active, very hyper, and very naughty guy. He was very determined and dedicated and he wanted to dominate from Day 1. He had tremendous self-belief that I can do anything. Shalaj and Virat were very thick friends from my academy,”

Shalaj’s mother also revealed in the video that Kohli used to ask her about the lunch menu during training and even requested her to cook specific meals for him. Such small incidents speak volumes about the Indian skipper’s personality and his love for food, which is well-known among his fans.
