“We may see Kuldeep Yadav playing,” Wasim Jaffer predicts changes in India’s playing XI for second ODI

Former Indian cricketer, Wasim Jaffer has predicted a few changes that India can make in the second ODI against New Zealand.

Indian camp has a lot of rethinking to do after a massive loss against New Zealand in the first ODI. The men in blue failed to defend a target of 307. Tom Latham and Kane Williamson took the hosts to a comfortable win with a record-breaking partnership.

Moreover, India missed a trick by failing to play an extra bowling option. Shikhar Dhawan had only 5 bowling options and not even a part-timer was available to chip in a few over in the middle. Now, Wasim Jaffer has spoken up and urged the management to think of making a few changes for the next game.

Wasim Jaffer wants Kuldeep Yadav to get a game in place of Yuzvendra Chahal

Former Indian cricketer, Wasim Jaffer has predicted that India may go with Kuldeep Yadav in the next game. He feels that Kuldeep’s “Chinaman” feature will bring more mystery to the opposition.

“We may see Kuldeep Yadav playing in place of Yuzvendra Chahal. I think the Chinaman bowler brings more mystery to the table”

He further added that Arshdeep Singh needs to get dropped. Wasim Jaffer banks on Deepak Chahar to come in his place as he gives more batting depth to the team.

“Also, maybe Arshdeep get replaced by Deepak Chahar because then you will have depth in the batting. Chahar can swing the ball and since he adds strength to batting, the top-order batters can play more fearlessly,”

“Rishabh Pant is irreplaceable,” Jaffer banks for the wicket-keeper to keep his place

Wasim Jaffer went on to say that Deepak Hooda is also a good all-round option. But for that, they have to let go of Rishabh Pant. And, he feels that Pant is irreplaceable at the moment.

“Deepak Hooda is indeed a tempting option, but I don’t think he would replace Rishabh Pant who is irreplaceable, especially in this format,”

India will play their second ODI against New Zealand on Sunday, 27th November 2022. The visitors are currently trailing in the series by 0-1.
