It was a great show for India with both bat and ball as they beat Bangladesh by a huge margin of 110 runs.

This win keeps the hopes of India Women alive to get a berth for the semis.

Yastika Bhatia starred for the bat with India after she played a gritty knock of 50.

Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana started off well by hitting Bangladesh Women’s bowlers for boundaries.

But they didn’t stay on for too long and were quickly taken up by the Bangladesh Women.

Mithali Raj scored a duck which was the seventh in her long career of 23 years.

India vice-captain Harmanpreet Kaur was seen struggling to play shots and runs had dried up for India. She ultimately got out by a sharp throw from Hoque.

It was then up to the pair of Pooja Vastrakar and Sneh Rana to give some momentum to the innings and they played excellently to take India to a respectable total of 229/7.

It was too tall an ask for debutants Bangladesh as they skittered quickly.

Sneh Rana and Rajeshwari Gayakwad kept a tight check on the run flow and picked up wickets at regular intervals.

Sneh Rana surpassed Gayakwad to emerge as India’s best bowler with career-best figures of 4/30.

Bangladesh Women were cleaned up for 119.
