In the latest news from the Baroda camp, it has come forth that Hardik Pandya has decided to skip the Ranji Trophy.

Ahmedabad Titans have named Hardik as their captain in the upcoming season of the IPL.

Hardik has lost his spot in the national team as well. He last played in the ICC T20 World Cup and has been out of the Test squad for a very long time.

Hardik has not been bowling because of the injuries that he has faced of late, the latest being his back injury.

Sourav Ganguly, BCCI president, wanted Hardik to gain some match fitness and play the domestic tournament to regain his lost mojo.

But, Hardik gave a deaf ear to the advice and wants to come back into the playing business as full-time captain for the Ahmedabad Titans.

His brother, Krunal, meanwhile is a part of the Baroda squad for the Ranji Trophy.

Kedar Devdhar is captain for the Baroda team while Vishnu Solanki will be his deputy.

Hardik currently has no fitness issues at all.

If he had played some Ranji Trophy matches, he would have regained most of his skills and he would have bowled longer spells so that his body becomes used to the conditions of playing cricket once again.

Ganguly wants Hardik to play cricket for India in the long run.
