PAKISTAN

Pakistan’s history with cricket dates back before the nation was founded in 1947. Moreover, on November 22, 1935, the Sindh and Australian cricket teams played in Karachi’s first-ever international cricket game. 5,000 Karachi residents watched the game. Team Sind was led by Ghulam Mohammad. Team Tarrant was led by Frank Tarrant. Moreover,  Pakistan’s cricket industry grew quickly after the country gained its independence in 1947. Significantly on July 28, 1952, Pakistan was granted Test match status. They recieved it at a meeting of the Imperial Cricket Conference at Lord’s in England. This was recomended by India. Pakistan is the most unpredictable team in the history of world cricket.

However, the decrease in foreign teams visiting Pakistan was caused by the rise in terrorism as a result of the war on terror. After the terrorist attack in 2009, no test match was played in Pakistan until 2019.  Their home games have been hosted primarily in the UAE between 2009 and 2016. Nonetheless, numerous teams have visited Pakistan since 2015.This was due to the result of a decline in terrorism in Pakistan over the previous few years and increased security. These teams include an ICC World XI squad as well as Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, the West Indies, Bangladesh, South Africa, Australia, and England. Moreover, Pakistan has hosted matches for the Pakistan Super League.

The team won its first world cup under the inspired leadership of Imran Khan in 1992. Saeed Anwar and Waqar Younis were injured during the world cup. Still, Pakistan managed to win it. Inzamam Ul Haq announced himself during this world cup. They defeated England in the final.
