Jason Roy misses out and Harry Brook comes in for the World Cup

ENGLAND

Luke Wright, England’s chief national selector on Jason Roy said  we have had to make some tough decisions on world-class players with Jason Roy missing out.

Jason Roy dropped from World Cup squad

Luke Wright, England’s chief national selector said that.

“We are blessed with an incredibly strong group of white-ball players which was underlined by the performances in the series win against a very good New Zealand team,”. Wright said by ESPNcricinfo.

Luke further said that the management had to make some tough calls for Jason Roy and to include Harry Brook.

“The strength of the group has meant that we have had to make some tough decisions on world-class players with Jason Roy missing out and Harry Brook coming into the squad,”. Luke added.

Furthermore, the inclusion of Ben Stokes in the squad was taken on. Someone among Liam Livingstone, Jason Roy, Dawid Malan, or Harry Brook had to sacrifice their position. However, due to a lack of experience, Harry Brook was not in the squad. His performance in The Hundred and New Zealand got him a place in the World Cup. Roy, the only batsman not in the form lost his place in the team. However, it is not clear that whether Ben Stokes can bowl or not. It is most likely that Ben Stokes plays as a batter in the team. He will also play in the middle order for the England team.
