In the second ODI, it was a Prasidh Krishna show as he dominated the West Indies batsmen in yesterday’s clash.

Chasing a modest total of 238, West Indies were put in a tight spot right from the start by the Indian pacers.

Their top order failed to make any runs and fell cheaply. They could only finish at 193 in 46 overs.

It gave India their 11th consecutive bilateral series win over the West Indies since 2007 and Rohit Sharma’s first as full-time ODI captain.

Although West Indies were pretty happy to restrict India to a score of 237, pretty soon in the second innings, they felt the pressure amounting on them and they remained behind in the chase as the required run rate kept climbing at a fast pace.

Prasidh Krishna used the pitch well and Rohit Sharma kept changing the bowling from time to time paying the team rich dividends. His field placements also did the trick for the team.

The dew wasn’t a troubling factor as well in the second innings.

Shamarh Brooks and Odean Smith tried to keep the visitors in the hunt but they too fell after they looked all guns blazing.

Krishna finished his bowling with figures of 4/12 in 9 overs.

For India, Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul put up a fine partnership of 91 runs.

Handy contributions came from Washington Sundar and Deepak Hooda.
