After bidding successfully for wicketkeeper-batsman, Ishan Kishan, there were rumours that he may feel the pressure of the price tag.

But, Mumbai Indians’ head coach, Mahela Jayawardene in the pre-tournament press conference dismissed all these issues and said that Ishan will continue to play his natural game.

He also revealed that they have kept the environment at camp very calm and comfortable for every player so that they can perform their best in the season.

Skipper Rohit Sharma will be Ishan’s opening partner in the tournament.

Rohit also said that Suryakumar Yadav is currently in rehab at the NCA.

The middle-order batsman will join Mumbai Indians once he is absolutely fit.

Mumbai will play their first game against the Delhi Capitals on the 28th of March.

Ishan Kishan was on the list of three franchises at the Mega Auctions which were the Punjab Kings, Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans.

Punjab Kings stopped their bidding at 7.50 crores.

Titans and Mumbai Indians went toe-to-toe, Mumbai Indians winning the contest in the end.

Kishan also wanted to join Mumbai Indians only as it was his only preference.
