IPL 2022: Post Match Analysis: Gujarat Titans vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunriders Hyderabad vs Gujarat Titans

Gujarat Titans have suffered their first defeat of the season against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Sunrisers won the toss and decided to bowl first.

In the first innings, Gujarat Titans didn’t have a good start with the bat as both Matthew Wade and Shubhman Gill departed early to the dugout.

Even last match’s hero, Sai Sudharsan made just 11 in today’s game.

It was then skipper Hardik Pandya and Abhinav Manohar who pieced together the Titans’ innings to get them to a respectable 162/7 in their 20.

It was a full comedy show during the Titans’ innings where Manohar was dropped 3 times by the Sunrisers and then was ultimately taken by Rahul Tripathi off Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

All that the Sunrisers needed was 163 which was quite an easy target.

Abhishek Sharma and Kane Williamson started off well with the bat and had a small partnership going.

After Abhishek’s departure, Rahul Tripathi continued to keep pace but was then retired hurt due to falling down after hitting a six.

Williamson and Nicholas Pooran then took the Sunrisers close to winning and the finishing touches were put by Pooran along with Markram.

Sunrisers Hyderabad ended up winning their second match by 8 wickets.

Player of the Match
