Ryan Campbell, former Australian player and now coach of the Netherlands, suffered a heart attack on Saturday.

He was at a playground with his children when the incident occurred.

Campbell was then immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in the UK for further treatment.

Campbell’s friend and Australian journalist, Gareth Parker revealed the news via his Twitter handle.

Just a week prior, Campbell had gone to meet his family and friends in Perth.

Campbell in his heydays had played 2 ODIs for Australia in the absence of then wicketkeeper-batsman, Adam Gilchrist.

He opted to coach the Netherlands in 2017 and has played cricket for both Australia and Hong Kong.

He represented Hong Kong in the 2016 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup where he made his debut at 44 years and became the oldest player to do so.

Campbell played international cricket from 1994 to 2006 and he was a star player for Western Australia with 6009 runs at an average of 36.31.
