Former India opener, Virender Sehwag created some headlines when he opened up about his tough phase in cricket.
It was the year 2008 and India were in Australia playing a tri-series.
Virender Sehwag returned to the pavilion with a string of low scores such as 6, 33, 11 and 14 in the team’s first four matches.
As a result of it, MS Dhoni decided to drop Sehwag from the team for the next matches.
India went on to script a historic win in the tri-series against Australia with Sehwag watching from the sidelines.
At that point, as Virender Sehwag revealed, he decided to quit the 50-over format while continuing to play Test cricket for India.
He went on to reveal that it was Sachin Tendulkar who stopped him from announcing his retirement from ODIs.
Sachin also asked Sehwag to reconsider his decision after the finishing up of the tri-series.
Sehwag says that he is lucky not to have announced his retirement back then.
He then went on to play for India for 7 to 8 years and was a part of the World Cup 2011 winners Indian squad.
After the tri-series, Sehwag played in a Test match against Australia where he scored 150.
