Deepak Chahar warned Stubbs instead of “run out”

The third T20I of India against South Africa, saw Deepak Chahar getting a chance to run out Tristan Stubbs at the non-striker’s end, but he decided against it.

Deepti Sharma recently became a hot topic of discussion. The reason, by now isn’t unknown. It was the last ODI India played against England when Sharman ran out Charlotte Dean at the non strikers end. Its not been a month the Deepak Chahar from the men’s team stood on the edge to repeat the same.

It was the last match of the T-20I of the tri series against South Africa when Chahar warned Stubbs on the non striker’s end. The later moved ahead providing Chahar a handsome chance of run out. However, Chahar chose to just warn Stubbs. This, however, left the youngster a wry smile on his face. This happened when Chahar was about to bowl his first ball of the 16th over.

India aimed for a series sweep. Earlier they announced that they will rest Virat Kohli and KL Rahul that match. However, the Proteas outplayed India both with bat and ball.

Quinton de Kock started on a great note for South Africa. Rilee Rossouw joined QDK in the middle after the Temba Bavuma left for the pavilion. De Kock smashed 68. However, Rossouw registered his career’s first T-20 ton. He stood not out at 100, henceforth, posted 227 on the board for South Africa posted.

However, coming to bat India were bundled out for 178. Henceforth, they lost the match by 49 runs. Apart from Dinesh Kartik (46 off 21), It was Chahar who tried to bring India on track.

Chahar smashed 31 off 17 balls. He hit 2 fours and sixes with a strike rate of 182. 35. However, Chahar couldn’t guide his team towards the win as he gave his catch to David Miller off Dwaine Pretorious.
