7000 runs to King Kohli; first one to get the precedent in IPL

Virat Kohli set a precedent in IPL. The RCB cricketer did what no one could do before. Kohli scored 7000 runs as the first batsman in the history of the competition. Kohli achieved this feat after scoring 12 runs in the match against Delhi Capitals on Saturday.

Virat Kohli had 6988 runs in 233 matches in IPL before coming out to bat against Delhi. His average 36.61. He is in great form in the current IPL as well. He scored 376 runs in 9 matches before landing in Delhi. With the bat in Delhi, Virat Kohli touched the 7000 runs mark!

Jos Buttler almost touched 973 runs record last year, but Kohli stayed untouched

Virat Kohli scored 973 runs in a season in 2016. That is still the highest run scored in a season. Jos Buttler couldn’t break it despite coming close last time. Kohli scored four hundreds that time. In all, he has five centuries and 46 fifties in IPL. Maximum 113.

Virat Kohli had the worst IPL last year. He scored only 341 runs in 16 matches. The average was only 22.73. Last year, Kohli was criticized for scoring a slow half-century in the history of IPL.

Shikhar Dhawan is next to Virat Kohli in terms of runs in IPL history. He has 6536 runs in 213 matches. After that, David Warner scored 6189 runs in 172 matches. Rohit Sharma has 6063 runs in 237 matches.

Virat Kohli made a half century even today against DC. He scored 55 runs of 46 balls with a decent strike rate of 119.57. Faf du Plessis, the skipper did contributed (45 of 32), but it was Mahipal Lomror who stole the show (54* of 29).

RCB posted a target of 182 for the the DC batters.
