Aakash Chopra blames RR’s bowlers for not being able to defend 214

Former India batter, Aakash Chopra has recently given his views about yesterday’s evening game between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Apparently, he was not happy with the way the bowlers bowled throughout the game and has even stated that some poor decisions by Samson led to their defeat.

On the other hand, it was a dramatic turn of events for Sunrisers Hyderabad who won the game.

This win has also now boosted the hopes of the Orange Army as they stay alive in this competition.

Meanwhile, Aakash Chopra has also stated that RR’s batters cannot be blamed at all for this loss.

Says Chopra,

To ask the question whether more runs could have been scored there, I mean you will never know. But if you can’t defend 214 runs, it’s not a problem of batters, it is a problem of bowlers, especially when there was no dew.

Aakash Chopra points out RR’s advantageous batting against SRH

Coming back to the game, the Rajasthan Royals batted brilliantly in the first innings with Jos Buttler being their highest run-getter.

Moreover, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson also played some handy knocks to take RR’s score past 200.

Thus, Rajasthan ended up with 214 runs on the board in 20 overs and asked SRH to chase 215.

But, the chase was proving to be quite a difficult one for the visitors as wickets kept tumbling for them.

However, it was Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, and Glenn Phillips who pulled SRH right back.

As was the case, SRH lost the game by 4 runs as Abdul Samad was caught out by Jos Buttler off Sandeep Sharma’s bowling.

But, there was a twist in fate as Sandeep bowled a no-ball in the final over.

Afterward, Samad hit him for a six off the last ball and the free hit.

And thus, SRH won the game and climbed to 9th place in the points table as well.
