Aakash Chopra criticizes Rohit Sharma for the latter’s poor form

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has slammed Rohit Sharma for the poor form that the latter has shown so far.

Chopra says that Indian fans should not believe that everything is going alright with Team India now that they have qualified for the semi-finals.

There are issues that need to be dealt with at the earliest and India is not working on them seriously.

These flaws need immediate correction from the Indian side.

Says Chopra,

The runs did not come from Rohit Sharma’s bat once again. Let’s not fool ourselves. We are all Indian fans, when we talk about Babar and Temba not scoring runs, we should also say that Rohit is not making runs.

Fans have raised questions about India’s opening pair for the T20 World Cup right from the start.

KL Rahul has answered back his critics with back-to-back half-centuries but Rohit Sharma is tottering with a single fifty so far.

Adding further, Chopra says,

He has scored one fifty in five matches, that too was a scratchy fifty, where a catch was dropped as well, and it was a fifty against the Netherlands. Here also you got out, trying to pull a short ball, a fielder was standing in the deep, that’s a problem.

Chopra has also spoken on Axar Patel’s form on his YouTube channel.

Therefore, the former cricketer wants Yuzvendra Chahal ahead of Axar Patel in the match against England.

This weakness is going to be exposed slightly. You have not played Yuzi Chahal and will not be able to play him as well. If you don’t play him, how will you stop England on a flat pitch when the boundaries will be short?

India and England are going to face each other off at the Adelaide Oval on the 10th of November.
