Aakash Chopra feels that KL Rahul is being unnecessarily targeted

Aakash Chopra

Former India cricketer, Aakash Chopra has recently commented on India opener KL Rahul, saying that he is being criticized unnecessarily.

Rahul, who made only 20 in the first Test at Nagpur has been under the radar of fans and cricket experts alike.

Chopra feels that Rahul is a great player and must be given a chance in the second Test as well.

Additionally, he says that just because Gill is sitting outside doesn’t mean that Rahul is a bad player.

The second Test between India and Australia commenced today at New Delhi’s Arun Jaitely Stadium.

Furthermore, Chopra adds that India is going to make only one change and that will be Shreyas Iyer for Suryakumar Yadav.

He also says that Rahul is feeling undue pressure from outside which is affecting his game.

Says Chopra,

I don’t see much scope for change in the Indian batting. Only one- Shreyas Iyer will come and Suryakumar Yadav will go. A little pressure has been created on KL Rahul. I hope he has a good match because the guy plays well and people are unnecessarily targeting him.

New Delhi Test to be Cheteshwar Pujara’s 100th Test

Another good news for India is that Test specialist, Cheteshwar Pujara is playing his 100th Test game today.

He made his debut against Australia in 2010 and then hit his first-ever international Test century against New Zealand in 2012.

All of Pujara’s 19 tons have come in the longest format. Now, playing in the Delhi Test, he is the 13th Indian to be playing 100 Tests.

While he was dismissed cheaply in the first Test, Pujara will be looking to relish this opportunity by scoring runs in the second Test.

Adds Chopra,

I know Shubman (Gill) is sitting outside but the incumbent player does not become bad because someone is sitting out. It is Cheteshwar Pujara’s 100th Test, so I am expecting him to have a good game.
