Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants faced each other in Jaipur on April 19. The captain of the Lucknow team scored 39 runs in 32 balls. These innings came as the talk of the match even after Lucknow won the match that night. The former Indian Coach Ravi Shastri shared that KL Rahul has to increase his strike rate and convert the starts to bigger runs. He wants Rahul to score at least 60 to 70 after getting the start.
Ravi Shastri on KL Rahul’ strike rate
“Absolutely (needs to get the strike up). All that talk about 160, I don’t buy it. When you have two chances, if you convert that 39 to 60 or 70, 160 becomes 175. You need someone in the top 3 to carry on and play that long innings,”
Ravi Shastri further added that
“If the Rajasthan Royals team had done that. They would have won this game. Plenty to learn from this game for both sides on how to approach and taking chances at the right time. It’s still early days in the tournament. Rajasthan is No. 1 and Lucknow is No. 2 and they will learn a lot from this,” said Ravi Shastri
Even after the loss, Rajasthan Royals are placed at the top of the table and Lucknow is in the second position.
