Adelaide Strikers recently had to face a tough decision as they had to say adieu to Jonathan Wells.

For the Adelaide Strikers, he contributed in 68 matches and is at the fourth position of the all-time highest run-scorer in the Big Bash League behind Chris Lynn, Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell. He has made the most number of runs for his club the Strikers’ during his five seasons stint with them and amassed 501 runs with a strike rate of 128.79 in BBL 11.

The management strategy has caused the Strikers’ to let go of their star batsman. Strikers’ head coach Jason Gillespie talked high about his batsman.

Wellsy is a brilliant cricketer and I cannot speak highly enough of what he has brought to the Strikers in his time here.

Adding further he said,

You know when he walks to the middle that he will give everything for the team, and more often than not he delivers exactly what is required.

Jon Wells has four fifties to his name with his best score of 62 not out against the Sydney Sixers. The club also released an official statement regarding his exit from the club.
