It was a bad day at MCG for four teams yesterday.

Australia, Afghanistan, England, and Ireland had to contend with one point each.

All four teams are still in contention for a semi-final spot but they will have to win all their remaining games by big margins.

Australia received a big battering from New Zealand but managed to secure a win against Sri Lanka on the back of Marcus Stoinis’ big hitting in the final over.

England on the other hand won their first game but didn’t do well against Ireland in their second game.

That’s why Jos Buttler and Co. need a number of wins to ensure that they don’t leave the tournament too early.

Talking about the points table in Group 1, we can see that England is currently grabbing the fourth spot because of a better net run rate, while Australia are lying at the bottom of the table.

Even Australia will have to put up a better showing in the tournament as they need wins to secure a semi-final berth for themselves.

All teams are playing the Super 12 stage to secure as many wins as they can to advance to the semi-finals.

India is doing well in their group so far as they have two out of two wins and are at the top.
