An official press release from Lucknow Super Giants has revealed that they have signed up Australian quick Andrew Tye.

He comes in place of England’s Mark Wood who was ruled out of the IPL due to an elbow injury.

Wood sustained that injury in the first Test against the West Indies and is undergoing rehab in England.

Previously, Lucknow Super Giants were in talks with Bangladesh’s Taskin Ahmed as a replacement for Wood.

But, Bangladesh Cricket Board has decided not to give Taskin a NOC to play in the IPL due to Bangladesh’s busy cricketing schedule.

Tye will receive an amount of INR 1 crore, the statement revealed.

Lucknow Super Giants are all set to begin their campaign on the 28th of March against the other debutants Gujarat Titans.

LSG has great players in their team like KL Rahul, Ravi Bishnoi and Marcus Stoinis. They have a great chance to win the title and prove themselves worthy as a team.
