Anrich Nortje misses clash against RCB due to personal emergency

Delhi Capitals’ pacer, Anrich Nortje was unavailable for his team’s clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore yesterday.

Apparently, he has gone home citing a personal emergency and as of now, there is no official timeline for his return.

Furthermore, the franchise took to its social media handles to post the latest update on Nortje as well.

Wrote the franchise on its Twitter account,

Owing to a personal emergency, Delhi Capitals fast bowler Anrich Nortje had to leave for South Africa late on Friday night. He will be unavailable for this evening’s game against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Meanwhile, Nortje has played eight games for the Capitals where he has seven wickets to his credit and his best spell is 2/20.

On the other hand, Delhi Capitals faced RCB at home yesterday in the second game of the doubleheader.

Delhi Capitals upstage RCB at home by seven wickets

In the game between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore, it was the home side who triumphed over the visitors.

This win has now kept Delhi alive for the Playoffs and they will continue to win their remaining fixtures.

Batting first, RCB could only muster 181 runs in their 20 overs and asked DC to chase down 182.

Courtesy of knocks from David Warner, Phil Salt, Mitchell Marsh and Rilee Rossouw, Delhi Capitals chased down the target in just 16.4 overs.

Furthermore, Delhi is now in 9th place in the points table with 8 points and an NRR of -0.529 and will look to improve upon it more.

Now, Delhi has entered the competition after encountering five straight losses in the first half of the tournament.

They have now won four games on the trot and it seems like they have finally found their winning ways this season.

Their next clash is against the Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk in 3 days’ time.
