Australian pacer, Josh Hazelwood has been ruled out of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India.

Hazelwood has still not recovered from his Achilles injury that has been giving him quite a lot of trouble.

On the other hand, Cameron Green and Mitchell Starc have recovered from their finger injuries will be available for the third Test.

Furthermore, Andrew McDonald has stated that Hazelwood would be returning home to complete his rehab.

Additionally, skipper Pat Cummins is also going home due to a serious family illness. But, he will be back in time for the third Test.

The third Test at Indore starts from the 1st of March.

Although Green was fully fit to play in the second Test, he was not cleared to play by the team management.

For Hazelwood, his participation in India is pretty much over at the moment as he will also not be a part of the ODI series.

Will Josh Hazelwood be able to play in IPL 2023?

After this announcement, questions arise such as will Hazelwood be able to participate in this year’s IPL for RCB?

Later in 2023, Australia will be visiting England to play the Ashes series.

Additionally, the World Test Championship will also take place immediately after the IPL. Thus, if Australia manages to qualify for the WTC, then Hazelwood may think about participating in the IPL.

If Hazelwood recovers successfully from his injury, he will be able to play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.

The Bangalore-based franchise are going to start their campaign against the Mumbai Indians on the 2nd of April at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and they would be needing the services of Hazelwood.

Thus, all eyes will be on Hazelwood for both Australia and RCB fans alike.

As of now, there is update on whether Hazelwood will join RCB for the IPL.
