Australia Women’s T20I squad for India tour announced

Cricket Australia has announced their women’s squad for the tour of India in December.

Kim Garth, a former Ireland allrounder has received her second call-up for Australia for the five-match T20I tour of India.

All the matches are being played in Mumbai and the series will run throughout December.

Garth has played 85 matches for Ireland and she made her debut at just 14 years in 2010.

Last year, Garth received her permanent residency and has also completed a three-year period in Ireland.

For the Melbourne Stars, Garth has picked up 12 wickets in this year’s WBBL.

Garth has gathered quite some headlines for her inclusion in the Australian squad.

Lanning’s indefinite break from cricket continues while Haynes has played her last game on Sunday for Sydney Thunder.

Another new name in the squad is Phoebe Litchfield who is just 19 years old and has successfully replaced Haynes who is her teammate and mentor at Sydney Thunder.

Heather Graham has also earned a call-up for this tour with her excellent performances for Hobart Hurricanes along with Tahlia McGrath being vice-captain to Alyssa Healy.

Other players missing out on this tour are Amanda Jade-Wellington along with Georgia Wareham, Sophie Molineux, and Tayla Vlaeminck.
