Did Virat Kohli play with illness on Sunday? Is the innings of 186 runs out of his bat without being physically fit? After the match, wife and actress Anushka Sharma hinted as much in her Instagram story. However, Axar Patel did not want to accept it when he came to the press conference after the match. According to the Indian bowler, seeing Kohli, not once did he feel physically unwell.

When asked about Kohli’s physical condition, Axar replied,

“I don’t know anything like that. The way he was running between the wickets, it never seemed like Kohli was sick. I also enjoyed pairing with him. I don’t know about physical ailments.”

While Shreyas Iyer’s injury was reported by the Indian board, nothing was said about Kohli. As a result, it is not clear if he is injured at all or how sick he is. He was also seen fielding in Australia’s second innings. Nothing different came Axar Patel as well.

Axar Patel hints for a win attempt on the fifth day

Axar played a patient innings with the bat again. After crossing fifty, he became a bit aggressive. However, he got out while continuing to do so. While asked if he had recieved any instructions from the dressing room, Axar said,

“Nobody said anything. Virat Bhai said to play the way I want. The bowlers were not getting help from the pitch after we were set. I was also playing good shots. After turning 50, Virat Bhai said he can take big shots. Because there were only 22 overs left in the game. But didn’t get any message to declare or continue playing.”

When Axar received questions regarding the match going to fifth day or regarding the pitch, he became annoyed. According to him, criticisms are a must for people, because people are not happy with anything. Axar said,

“After the first three matches, people asked why the game was over in three days. Now everyone is surprised even if the match is played in five days. We don’t have them. The wicket should be played as it is. However, it took four days to finish the first innings of both teams, which is a little surprising. But on the last day, we will fight to win.”
