BCCI holds a pre-assessment camp for non-Test playing cricketers

Before the IPL season starts this year, BCCI on the suggestion of the national selection committee has decided to hold a pre-assessment camp so that they can ascertain the fitness levels of all players.

As many as 25 players have joined the camp for this purpose.

The camp began on the 5th of March at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

Some of the contracted players who have joined the camp so far are KL Rahul, Shardul Thakur, Washington Sundar, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Hooda, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravi Bishnoi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel and Avesh Khan.

Meanwhile, the likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Deepak Chahar are already undergoing rehabilitation at the NCA.

Additionally, Axar Patel has completed his rehab and is available for selection in the second Test.

Previously, the BCCI had released a statement regarding Axar in which they said that Axar will not be participating.

Axar last played a Test match against New Zealand in December.
