BCCI plans for options; possibilities of Asia Cup cancellation

BCCI has informed long ago that they wont sent Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma to Pakistan for the Asia Cup. The Indian officials also did not like the alternative proposal of the Pakistan Cricket Board, who was desperate to host the tournament. At that time Jai Shah lef BCCI is planning another competition with five countries. If so, will the Asia Cup be canceled in the end?

BCCI and the PCB are adamant about their position on the Asia Cup. The cricketing heads of both the countries are not willing to leave each other a hair’s breadth. According to sources, PCB bosses have offered an alternative to the Asian Cricket Confederation (ACC). They want to arrange India’s matches in a neutral country.

Pakistan wants to host the remaining matches of the competition. Indian cricket officials however do not agree with this proposal of Pakistan. They want the entire competition to be removed from Pakistan. Board of Cricket Council in India wants UAE or Sri Lanka to host the entire competition. Pakistan officials are not willing to accept this proposal of BCCI officials in any way.

Keeping in mind the One Day World Cup, this time the Asia Cup will be a over. BCCI officials have started an alternative plan so that Kohli, Rohit have no shortage in their World Cup preparations. In the end, if the Asia Cup is cancelled, the BCCI may organize a one-day tournament involving five countries.

According to ACC sources, the authorities may announce the final decision on the Asia Cup within a few days. Pakistan may not send Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan to India to play one-day World Cup if ACC cancels Asia Cup. In that case, the attraction of the World Cup may decrease. Again, it is difficult for ACC to conduct Asia Cup, excluding India. As a result, ACC officials are in trouble. ICC is monitoring the situation. BCCI and PCB – ACC authorities are practically disorientated in front of the stubborn position of these two boards.
