The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has nabbed a number of bookies recently.
All of these bookies were involved in influencing the match results of the 2019 season of the IPL.
BCCI has welcomed the CBI’s decision and is happy to know that the truth has finally come to the light.
As per the tip received by the CBI, it was revealed that Pakistan was supporting the betting process.
The CBI also scoured all parts of India where the betting process was taking place.
Although the board claimed that there was no corruption involved in the 2019 season, still it is good that the CBI has taken an active interest in nabbing the wrongdoers.
So far, the CBI has arrested 7 people from Delhi, Hyderabad and Rajasthan who were actively involved in the fixing.
Another man from Pakistan has also been named by one of the sources of the CBI who was helping the racketeers.
All of these bookies have fake bank accounts where they have all the information of others’ KYC and bank details.
They have been charged for inducing people to start betting on leagues like the IPL.
