As Pakistan prepares to host next year’s Asia Cup, it is a big question for everyone in India whether the BCCI is willing enough to send a team.

Recently, the cricket board has confirmed that they are prepared to send a team to Pakistan for the continental tournament.

But, the final decision rests with the Indian government as they know that tensions with Pakistan are still pretty much high.

All the state associations have also been sent letters to by the BCCI and one of the topics in the AGM is the travel to Pakistan.

Next year, Pakistan is going to host a 50-over Asia Cup while India will be the sole host for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

India and Pakistan have not faced each other in a bilateral series since 2012-13 when the latter came to India to play three T20Is and as many ODIs.

These days, both nations meet only in multi-team events or the Asia Cup.

India has toured Pakistan two times, the first of these was in 2005-06 under Rahul Dravid where they played three Tests and five ODIs.

The last tour was in 2008 and that was for the Asia Cup again.

Fans on both sides wait eagerly for India-Pakistan clashes and when they happen, the energy can be seen reaching its zenith.
