The match was held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, and RR set a 176-run target for CSK. However, CSK could only manage to score 172 for 6 in 20 overs while chasing the target.
In the last over, Sandeep Sharma showed exceptional composure and prevented MS Dhoni from scoring a boundary. This contributed significantly to RR’s victory. Brett Lee praised Sandeep for his excellent performance against the legendary Dhoni, especially since he had to bowl with a wet ball.

It’s right within his arc, that sweet spot, and if he missed it by an inch, it would have gone for six. Full credit to Sandeep Sharma, bowling with a wet ball to MS Dhoni who is on fire, they’ve got the whole crowd against them. He closed out the game under pressure and that is absolutely hats off to him to win by three runs,”

RP Singh Acknowledges Sandeep Sharma’s Execution
RP Singh, another IPL expert at JioCinema, praised Sandeep Sharma’s performance in the final over of the IPL 2023 match. Despite his poor start, Sandeep kept his composure and bowled brilliantly against Dhoni. RP Singh said that Sandeep was well aware of Dhoni’s tendency to punish bowlers for even the slightest mistake.
After starting with two wides and a dot ball, Sandeep Sharma conceded two sixes, which added to the pressure. RP Singh acknowledged the mental state Sandeep was in and the importance of executing well. He emphasized the need to recognize Sandeep’s performance in executing his plans against such a skilled batsman.
