Bumrah’s back surgery successful, Iyer to get his in next week

Star India pacer, Jasprit Bumrah has gone under a successful lower-back surgery and is currently pain-free.

According to the latest BCCI reports, he will be available for the ODI World Cup later this year as he is now undergoing rehabilitation at the NCA in Bengaluru.

Additionally, after just six weeks’ time, the ace Indian pacer is back in India. Bumrah had gone to New Zealand to get treatment for his lower-back injury.

Batter Shreyas Iyer is all set for his lower-back surgery in a week’s time. After the surgery, he will be under the surgeon’s care for two weeks, after which he can join the NCA.

Bumrah started his rehabilitation journey last Friday at the NCA where he seems to be improving at the moment.

Reads a statement from the BCCI on Shreyas Iyer,

Mr Shreyas Iyer is scheduled to undergo surgery for his lower back issue next week. He will remain under the surgeon’s care for two weeks and will return to the NCA after that for rehabilitation.

BCCI releases statement for Rajat Patidar’s injury and treatment

Meanwhile, another star India player has been ruled out of the IPL this year and he is Royal Challengers Bangalore’s, Rajat Patidar.

Patidar is suffering from an Achilles injury and will be undergoing surgery for the same while the BCCI will bear the medical charges and ensure the best possible care for him.

Reads another statement of the BCCI for Patidar,

The BCCI will send Patidar for surgery although he is not a centrally contracted player. He is one of the targeted players and we will ensure he gets the best treatment.

Previously, RCB had released a statement on Patidar’s injury which reads as follows,

Unfortunately, Rajat Patidar has been ruled out of IPL 2023 due to an Achilles Heel injury. We wish Rajat a speedy recovery and will continue to support him during the process.
