The IPL auction is always exciting to watch for all Indian fans in India.

That’s why the mini-auction at Kochi will be no different as fans will watch this with great interest.

Come 23rd December and fans will watch in earnest as their cricketing stars go to different franchises.

There are a total of 405 players going under the hammer in this auction which includes 132 overseas players.

Moreover, in the recent list, there are 282 uncapped players, four of those are from associate nations.

87 slots are available for the players to choose from out of which 30 are for overseas players.

The maximum reserve price in the mini-auction has been placed at INR 2 crores and as many as 19 overseas players have put up their names in this category.

It will be a great task for all 10 teams as they will be left scratching their heads on who to pick and who to leave.

This auction is being held to finalize the squad for all 10 franchises before the 2023 season of the IPL.

That’s why all the franchises will make a proper strategy before they sit down and start the bidding on the 23rd.

So, let’s talk about the youngest player first. The youngest player to feature in this list of players is Afghanistan’s Allah Ghazanfar. He is likely to attract all 10 franchises during the auction and there will be hard bidding on the youngster.

Afghani spinners are always in demand in any T20 league around the world and Ghazanfar will not let go of this opportunity to play in the world’s biggest T20 league.

Ghazanfar is born on 15th July 2007 which makes him the youngest player at 15 years and 151 days.

He is a right-arm offspinner and his team in Afghanistan’s T20 League, Shpageeza Cricket League is Mis Ainak Knights.

Physically, Ghazanfar is 6ft 2 inches and has chosen his base price of INR 20 lakh rupees at the auction.

Previously, the youngest player to play in the IPL was Prayas Barman who played only a single game for Royal Challengers Bangalore at 16 years and 157 days back in 2019.

On the other hand, the oldest player to feature in this list is a very popular figure, Amit Mishra.

Mishra is now 40 years and 19 days old and has registered himself for the auction after Delhi Capitals released him.

Mishra has great numbers when it comes to T20 cricket. He has played 244 games in which he has 272 wickets.

His average is 22.38 and his economy rate is 7.14. In the IPL, Mishra has played 154 games and scalped 166 wickets with an average of 23.97.
