India Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara had a successful outing in his debut match for Sussex in the County Championship.

He looked back in his original form as he smashed a double ton in the second innings of Sussex and made all the Indians proud of his achievement.

Although he couldn’t contribute much in the first innings as he scored only 6 from 15 deliveries.

Recently, the BCCI had axed both Pujara and Rahane from the Indian Test side due to their poor run in the format.

Pujara and Rahane did participate in the Ranji Trophy but they, unfortunately, didn’t do any better there as well.

Fans who previously were criticising Pujara for his poor form lauded his batsmanship in the County Championship.

Everyone took to their social media handles and heaped wishes upon Pujara for his double ton and termed it as the best thing in Indian cricket apart from IPL.

Derbyshire posted a huge total of 505/8 in their first innings.

Sussex however, stumbled badly in their first innings, getting all out on 174 in just 56.3 overs.

It was in the second innings that Sussex picked up brilliantly, thanks to Pujara and skipper Tom Haines’ double centuries.

Pujara scored 201* while Haines scored 243 which took their team’s score to 513/3.
