The record holder

Wasim Jaffer leads the pack with 14609 runs in domestic cricket. He has been a faithful servant for Mumbai before moving to Vidarbha at the fag end of his career. Jaffer has 46 centuries to his name, a record for the most centuries by an Indian in domestic cricket. Pujara is behind Wasim Jaffer with 12016 runs to his name in 146 matches. He has the chance to pass the tally of Jaffer and become the highest run scorer in the domestic format.
