If Royal Challengers Bangalore loses the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, both LSG and CSK will qualify for the playoffs. This is a must win game for the Challengers. Lucknow and Chennai are with the points of 15 each and RCB winning two matches will put them in trouble.
Aakash Chopra said that
“Both Chennai and Lucknow will probably be praying that Bangalore lose because as soon as they lose, the ‘Q’ will be put in front of their names because only one team will be able to reach 16 points, and that is Mumbai,” Aakash Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel.
He further added that
Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants want Royal Challengers Bangalore to lose because they do not want to wait to get that ‘Q’.
“Even if Bangalore win (their last game), they will be stopped at 14 only. Mumbai might also be stopped at 14. So a team of 14 might still qualify, but no one will be able to reach 15. Then Chennai’s match against Delhi and Lucknow’s match against Kolkata will become immaterial if Hyderabad wins here,” Aakash Chopra added.
If RCB lost against Hyderabad today, it will be an advantage for many teams including Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals. The teams who might reach to playoffs according to the percentage predictor are Gujarat, Lucknow, Chennai, and Mumbai Indians. Aakash Chopra added that one team might qualify with 14 points.
