Chris Gayle welcomes Virat Kohli to his unique record club

Virat Kohli scored yet another century in the Indian Premier League. This time it is against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He scored his hundred in 63 balls, his second slowest hundred. However, it does not count as they won the match. Chris Gayle, who owns the record for most hundreds in the Indian Premier League.Now, both Gayle and Virat have the same number of centuries in IPL.

Chris Gayle welcoming Virat Kohli said that

“Welcome young man and welcome to the highest century makers club. I was bored, I was lonely and bored. I was like ‘I need some company at the top’. Now I have got it and we can have a talk now, Virat,” Gayle told Jio Cinema on Friday.

Chris Gayle further praised Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf Du Plessis

“He was so aggressive from ball one. When he hit that first boundary, he was like ‘it’s my day today and I am going to make it count’. He delivered for his team. Virat seldom plays a lot of sweep, but to see him play sweeps against left-arm spinners was lovely. It was a superb innings and he was complemented by Faf as well,” the 43-year-old Chris Gayle added

Royal Challengers Bangalore needs to beat Gujarat Titans in the last league game of this Indian Premier League to qualify for the Playoffs. The star performers for RCB are their top-order batsman Virat Kohli, Maxwell, and Faf Du Plessis. Faf Du Plessis is the leading run scorer in the Indian Premier League 2023.
