England Cricket Board have taken the decision to make Paul Collingwood the interim coach for the upcoming tour of England to the West Indies.

When England lost the T20I series 3-2 against the Windies, Collingwood was the coach.

The ECB made the announcement on Monday.

After the massive loss to Australia in the Ashes, England is now looking to tinkering around with their staff.

Andrew Strauss has taken over as Director of Cricket for the time being.

Chris Silverwood faced sacking from his position of head coach.

Collingwood will join the England team on the 25th of February. He is currently on vacation in Barbados.

After his appointment, Collingwood expressed a lot of excitement.

I am genuinely excited to be leading the Test team for the tour of the Caribbean. I can’t wait to get started.

Having a challenging Test series against the West Indies straight off the back of the Ashes disappointment gives us a chance from now to reset and rebuild.

Collingwood also had discussions with Joe Root and Ben Stokes.

England will start their Caribbean campaign in March.

They will also take part in a four-day warm-up match on the 1st of March.
