Danish Kaneria rates India’s performance against Bangladesh as ‘third class’

India lost their second successive ODI against Bangladesh at Dhaka yesterday. In this closely-fought game, India lost by 5 runs.

After this match, former Pakistan spinner, Danish Kaneria has come down severely on India’s performance in the second ODI.

Kaneria has termed the entire performance as ‘third class’ and praised the Bangladesh side for bowling brilliantly in the second innings.

Says Kaneria,

Bangladesh bowlers bowled exceptionally while India’s bowling was third class. It’s harsh but you have to see where Indian cricket is heading towards. The conditions were similar to those back home but Indian bowlers were getting exposed. The Indian bowlers were bowling short-pitched deliveries, no one targetted the body or yorkers. Siraj leaked a lot of runs. He has aggression but his bowling was a bit wayward.

It was a brilliant batting performance from Mehidy Hasan Miraz who scored a ton in the game.

From India’s side, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, and Rohit Sharma brought India back into contention for winning the game.

But, after the dismissal of Iyer and Patel, India looked down and out of the competition.

India also struggled right at the start of the innings as they lost early wickets.

Chattogram is the host for the third and final ODI of the series on the 10th.
